I wouldn’t say I am the best street photographer in the UK. But I’m in the top one.

World’s Top 10 Street Photographers 2023 - Oneeyeland

And the winner is.......me!

Omg! I’ve only gone and been ranked No.1 In the UK and No.4 in the world in the World’s Top 10 Street Photographers 2023, by Oneeyeland, in their very prestigious photography awards.

I’m absolutely stunned and excited and far too emotional.

Thank you everyone for your support and Oneeyeland for this award – I can’t express my gratitude enough.

Just being involved in these amazing competitions is cool as far as I’m concerned, but to actually have won UK’s best street photographer is something very special indeed. I set out making images just to keep my mind positive after a serious football injury. Back then, my goal was just to get good enough with a camera that I could figure out how to take photos from when I got up in the morning until I go to bed, whether that involved sunrises, street, or astrophotography – I wanted to do it all. Getting to a level where people actually buy my images, and to be able to compete in some of these amazing competitions, was way beyond my wildest dreams.

The headline at the top is taken from a quote by the brilliant Brian Clough when he said "I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one."

A quote that has always made me laugh, I think Cloughie meant his quote as mine is a little more tongue in cheek but now every time I see this blog post I’m going to smile and laugh to myself.
