Weird! People keep giving me awards -

Well, that was an interesting month.

It started with an Honourable Mention in the International Photography Awards for my street photography book proposal called Grockles, looking at tourism in the South West.

Then I got shortlisted for the phenomenal British Photography Awards, with my image Painting The Lines appearing in The Times magazine. If that wasn’t enough, I was invited to the awards ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London, for an evening of glitz and glamour, with my eldest child.

I felt way out of my comfort zone in a suit and at one point I thought the hotel might send me a bill for all the beautiful food my eldest child kept pinching - you would think we starved him.

It was a fantastic night and we got to meet some great people and see some amazing photography.

And then, to top it all off, Grockles came second in the prestigious ND Awards 2023. These images have been a labour of love to me for many years, so to get some accolades in top competitions makes me feel rather proud.

So. Thank you everyone involved in these awards, and everyone that has supported me over the years.

I’d like to give a special dedication to all the snacks that have fuelled my creativity during these photography trips. If it wasn’t for you I’d be half the man I am today.
